Public Hearing Regarding Bus Routes

A public hearing will be held by the City of Madison Transit and Parking Commission in Room GR-27 of the City County Building, 210 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., on Tuesday, April 15 at 6:00 PM to address service change proposals.

Interested persons are encouraged to attend the public hearing to give feedback on proposals that focus on improving on-time performance and capacity of service that have declined because of recent service reductions.

A comprehensive approach is being proposed that will involve route realignments in peripheral and core areas and the addition of new services.

Complete background information including: a general description and justification of proposed service changes; a description of the perceived benefits and reductions of the proposal; draft maps and schedules; and paratransit service impacts is now available by clicking on the "Public Hearing Information" link below.

Review of Master Plan for Door Creek Park

Madison Parks Division staff will present plans for a new community park to serve the growing population on the east side of Madison. Door Creek Park is a 115-acre park, located east of the interstate, between Milwaukee Street and County Highway BB in the Door Creek Neighborhood. Door Creek Park is a large community park that has been in the planning and acquisition stage since 1990. The Master Plan for the park include both active and passive recreation typical for Madison’s large parks: athletic fields, playgrounds, picnic areas and shelters, tennis and basketball courts, shore fishing, winter ice skating and ski trails, winter and summer trails both linking to Dane County’s regional trail system.

SENA Annual Meeting and Elections

The SENA annual meeting and elections will be held on Saturday, April 12 at Door Creek Church starting at 10:00am. Rolls, juice and coffee will be served. This is the Association’s Annual Meeting and yearly elections. Also at this meeting, Doug Pearson, Facilities Manager for the School District and Paul Bloom, Assistant Chief of the Fire Department will be speaking about the future of a school and fire station in the neighborhood. This development is part of the master plan for Sprecher School Estates.
